IMSI (Intracytoplasmic morphologically selected sperm injection) is a successful assisted technique used in IVF treatment to select the morphologically best sperm using a high-magnification digital imaging microscope. In the ICSI procedure, sperm morphology can be examined using a microscope that magnifies the sperm sample up to 400 times, while in the IMSI procedure, the sperm sample is examined by magnifying it 6,000 times. With the IMSI method, sperms with morphologically abnormal structures can be examined clearly.
