What Is The TESE Method? How To Implement?

Infertility is quite common in men. Infertility tests for men are related to the number and quality of sperm in the semen. The most difficult problem is the absence of sperm in the semen. However, several techniques have recently been developed to solution this problem.

The TESE (Testicular Sperm Extraction) method is now widely used in the solution of male infertility.

What Is The TESE Method?

The TESE is a method of obtaining sperm from the testis by surgical operation by performing a biopsy procedure. The TESE method is one of the most recent techniques to be used in male infertility cases. Because this method is applied to people who have no sperm in their semen (azoospermia) or have completely immobilized sperm.

How To Implement The TESE Method?

Azoospermia is generally divided into obstructive and non-obstructive. In almost all obstructive azoospermia cases, sperm is obtained from the testes by the TESE method. However, in non-obstructive azoospermia, sperm gaining rate by the TESE method is around 50 percent. In cases where a large number of sperm are obtained by the TESE, the necessary ones are used. Other sperms can be frozen for subsequent microinjection methods.

Who Can Be Benefits From The TESE Method?

There are different cases that require the TESE method. These include congestion of sperm ducts, non-congenital sperm ducts, hormonal factors, genetic causes, drugs, radiation and post-mumps infection.

What Are The Factors Determining Success In TESE Method?

One out of 10 father candidates who had infertility problems had azoospermia in sperm analysis results. The success of the TESE method depends on several factors, which is an important solution for this problem. These factors include spermatic size, spermatic biopsy result, tissue separation methods, hormonal treatment before the TESE, genetic changes and serum FSH level.
