Testicular Ultrasound

Testicular ultrasound is a diagnostic test used to view the testicles and surrounding tissues in the scrotum. The procedure uses high-frequency sound waves to produce images of testicles. Problems affecting the testicles can sometimes cause male infertility because sperm are produced in the testicles. These problems include infection, epididymal cyst, injury, hydrocele, varicocele, spermatocele or tumor. Testicular ultrasound helps to detect the cause of infertility. It is a safe, painless, minimally invasive and relatively inexpensive procedure.
